    Dave's Central Ohio Group Rides for June 2009

    Saturday, June 6th, 2009 ::

     

    Chillicothe to Hocking Hills Run **

    ** This ride is not recommended for the novice rider. Some roads are pretty twisty.

    Meeting Place / Time :: Bob Evans at Powell & 23 at 9:15 to 9:30 for optional breakfast and leave promptly at 10:00.

    Length in miles :: 165 miles +/- --------------------------- Communications: The group uses CB Channel 1.

    Length in hours :: 6 hours with 2 stops and a stop for lunch at Jimbo's in South Bloomingville.

    Special Feature :: SR 315 to Frank Rd :-(, then a crisp and sunny morning ride following along SR 104 and Three Locks Road taking the long way around to Jimbo's with lots of twisties and nice scenery along the way. After Jimbo's ? More twisties through the beautiful Hocking Hills area to US 33.

    Route Highlights :: Chillicothe, Richmond Dale, South Bloomingville, Hocking Hills, then once we merge onto US 33 you are on your own for the trek home.

    Rest Stops :: US 22 / SR 104 in Circleville for a quick break, then along US 33 for a Fuel, Drink, Snack, Smoke and Restroom Break.

    Lunch Stop :: Jimbo's Bar & Grile at 23356 State Route 56 in South Bloomingville. (740)332-6550

    ** Rain Date :: TBD due to the 2009 Riding Route 66 Motorcycle Tour.

    Saturday, June 20th, 2009 ::

    Historic Route 40 Ice Cream Run **


    ** Alternate Guide due to the 2009 Riding Route 66 Motorcycle Tour.

    Meeting Place / Time :: Bob Evans at Powell & 23 at 9:45 for breakfast and leave promptly at 10:30.

    Length in miles :: 130 miles +/- --------------------------- Communications: The group uses CB Channel 1.

    Length in hours :: 5.5 hours with 2 stops and a stop for lunch and a stop for ice cream at Young's Jersey Dairy Barn.

    Special Feature :: Young's Jersey Dairy Barn in Yellow Springs and Historic Route 40.

    Route Highlights :: Plain City, Urbana, Springfield, Yellow Springs, and Historic Route 40 from Springfield to Columbus.

    Rest Stops :: Urbana and West Jefferson for a 15 minute Fuel, Drink, Snack, Smoke and Restroom Break.

    Lunch Stop :: Peaches Grill with 20 unique beers on tap at 104 Xenia Ave / SR 68, in the quait village of Yellow Springs where there are many unique shops. www.peachesgrill.com

    *** The above listed rides are always weather permitting. Please check the
    web site the day before the ride for any cancellations due to poor weather.

    Meeting places will be either:

    Bob Evans at 23 Huber Village Blvd in Westerville, Ohio at State St & I-270
    or
    Bob Evans at 46 Hornbeam Lane in Lewis Center, Ohio at US 23 & Polaris Pkwy / Powell Rd
    or
    Kickstand Pub at the corner of Lazelle Road and Sancus Blvd at Polaris in Columbus, Ohio.

    ** Please note that some of the selected rides are not recommended for novice riders, (this means
    that the ride route is long, difficult or very twisty and that the group is not going to creep along)
    and also note that some rides will require the use of a safety helmet because of that states law.

    ** Please be aware that even though this is a group ride .... every rider is 100% responsible for his
    or her own safety and the safety of his or her passenger. Please ride safely at all times and be aware
    of the safety of other riders near you within the group, and watch out for those idiots on 4 wheels !!!

    ** Also, please note that Roadhouse 66 LLC will not be responsible for any physical injuries or personal
    property damage, as well as any other misfortunes resulting from either the riders participation in the
    weekly rides, or due to the riders consumption of alcohol or drugs, either before, during or after the rides.
