    Dave's Central Ohio Group Rides for May 2009

    Saturday, May 9th, 2009 ::

     

    First Escape From Columbus **

    ** This ride is not recommended for the novice rider because of the twisty roadways and the length.

    Meeting Place / Time :: Bob Evans in Westerville at 9:15 for optional breakfast and leave promptly at 10:00.

    Length in miles :: 186 miles +/- --------------------------- Communications: The group uses CB Channel 1.

    Length in hours :: 6.75 hours with 3 stops and a late stop for lunch.

    Special Feature :: Papa Boo's for lunch and entertainment.

    Route Highlights :: Newark, Fallsburg, Coshocton, Plainfield, New Concord, Zanesville, Thornville and Buckeye Lake Area.

    Rest Stops :: Cherry Valley Rd, Roscoe Village in Coshocton and Zanesville for a 15 minute Fuel, Drink, Snack, Smoke and Restroom Break.

    Lunch Stop :: Papa Boo's at Buckeye Lake at 2:30. Leave Papa Boo's between 4:30 to 5:00 PM. www.papaboos.com

    Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 ::

    Bellefontaine, Indian Lake to Urbana Run

    ** This is a very easy and enjoyable ride, so don't miss out !!

    Meeting Place / Time :: Bob Evans at Powell & 23 at 9:15 for optional breakfast and leave promptly at 10:00.

    Length in miles :: 147 miles +/- --------------------------- Communications: The group uses CB Channel 1.

    Length in hours :: 5.75 hours with 2 stops, a stop for lunch and a stop for ice cream.

    Special Feature :: Travel the first paved concrete road in the US, and the shortest road in the US. Stop for ice cream at the De Graff Creamery and travel through a Covered Bridge.

    Route Highlights :: Oshaughnessy Reservoir, East Liberty, Bellefontaine, Belle Center, Russell's Point, DeGraff, Urbana and Plain City.

    Rest Stops :: Pharisburg and Urbana for a 15 minute Fuel, Drink, Snack, Smoke and Restroom Break.

    Lunch Stop :: Froggy's Bar & Grill at 11065 County Road 293, Lakeview, Ohio at Indian Lake. http://froggys-online.com

    or
    Bob Evans at 46 Hornbeam Lane in Lewis Center, Ohio at US 23 & Polaris Pkwy / Powell Rd
    or
    Kickstand Pub at the corner of Lazelle Road and Sancus Blvd at Polaris in Columbus, Ohio.

    ** Please note that some of the selected rides are not recommended for novice riders, (this means
    that the ride route is long, difficult or very twisty and that the group is not going to creep along)
    and also note that some rides will require the use of a safety helmet because of that states law.

    ** Please be aware that even though this is a group ride .... every rider is 100% responsible for his
    or her own safety and the safety of his or her passenger. Please ride safely at all times and be aware
    of the safety of other riders near you within the group, and watch out for those idiots on 4 wheels !!!

    ** Also, please note that Roadhouse 66 LLC will not be responsible for any physical injuries or personal
    property damage, as well as any other misfortunes resulting from either the riders participation in the
    weekly rides, or due to the riders consumption of alcohol or drugs, either before, during or after the rides.
