Saturday, September 12th, 2009 ::
The Amish Heartland Ride **
** This ride is not recommended for the novice rider because of the twisty roadways and
the length.
Meeting Place / Time :: Bob Evans at State St & I-270, Westerville at 9:15 for breakfast and leave promptly at 10:00.
Length in miles :: 180 miles +/- --------------------------- Communications: The group uses CB Channel 1.
Length in hours :: 7.25 hours with 3 stops and a stop for lunch at Der Dutchman and a stop at Heini's Cheese Chalet.
Special Features :: Twisty SR 79 North from Newark, a stop at Roscoe Village, and then Lunch at Der Dutchman in Walnut Creek. Some brief shopping in Walnut Creek
and at the Coblentz Chocolate Factory then a stop at Heini's Cheese Chalet in Berlin.
** If you plan to buy any cheese at Heini's, please bring something to put it in for the two hour trip back to Columbus.
Route Highlights :: Newark, Roscoe Village in Coshocton, Charm, Walnut Creek, Berlin, Danville, Utica, and Johnstown.
** Optional Stop in Granville at Whit's Frozen Custard for a cool treat (to be decided at the rest stop in Utica)
Rest Stops :: Cherry Valley Rd, Roscoe Village in Coshocton and Utica for a 15 minute Fuel, Drink, Snack, Smoke and Restroom Break.
Lunch Stop :: Der Dutchman Restaurant of Walnut Creek at 4967 Walnut St in Walnut Creek.
** Rain Date :: Saturday, September 26th, 2009.

2009 RIDE FOR THE RED - Red Cross Charity Ride to / in Akron **
** This is a Red Cross Charity Ride and there is a registration fee of $20 per person / $30 per couple.
** Riders should pre-register at the web site at: summitcounty.redcross.org (when announced).
Meeting Place / Time :: Bob Evans at 46 Hornbeam Lane in Lewis Center at 8:45 for breakfast and leave promptly at 9:30.
Length in miles :: 300 miles +/- --------------------------- Communications: The group uses CB Channel 1.
Length in hours :: 10+ hours with 2 stops on the way to Akron and 2 on the way back to Columbus.
Special Features :: Enjoy a 1 hour and 20 minute non-stop Red Cross Charity Ride around the Akron area through Summit and Medina counties, ending at Lock 3 in downtown Akron where a huge Biker Bash will be held !! Riders are free to leave Akron on their own, in a small group or with the core group.
Route Highlights :: "Scenic" I-71 and I-76 to and from Akron ... but the fun starts in Akron !! Last year over 50 riders from Columbus joined over 1,000 Akron area riders who together helped raise $50,000.
Rest Stops :: Rest Area Stop entering Wayne County on I-71 and a Fuel Stop entering Akron. On the way back there will be 2 - 15 minute Fuel, Drink, Snack, Smoke and Restroom Breaks.
Lunch Stop :: Barbeque Chicken and Pulled Pork meals free at Lock 3 supplied by the Red Cross of Summit County in Akron.

that the ride route is long, difficult or very twisty and that the group is not going to creep along)
and also note that some rides will require the use of a safety helmet because of that states law.
** Please be aware that even though this is a group ride .... every rider is 100% responsible for his
or her own safety and the safety of his or her passenger. Please ride safely at all times and be aware
of the safety of other riders near you within the group, and watch out for those idiots on 4 wheels !!!
** Also, please note that Roadhouse 66 LLC will not be responsible for any physical injuries or personal
property damage, as well as any other misfortunes resulting from either the riders participation in the
weekly rides, or due to the riders consumption of alcohol or drugs, either before, during or after the rides.
